Operations Manager at Ale Municipality

About the workplace

You will be the immediate supervisor for six unit managers, where the Employment and Social Support Unit has shared leadership. Other units include the Adult Unit, Family Support Unit, Children and Youth Unit, and the Foster Care and Family Law Unit. All units are geographically located in Nödinge within walking distance of each other. Within the framework of Individual and Family Care, there is also the municipality's crisis support management. Your workplace is Nödinge municipal office, where your three fellow operations managers and the administrative manager also work.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as operations manager, you will have overall responsibility for the units within individual and family care and its management team. You will lead through other managers and work strategically with operational development, quality assurance, and resource planning. You will be responsible for budget, personnel, and goal follow-up and are one of the key people in the administration's management team, where we collectively drive change and develop social services in line with the new Social Services Act.

You have a holistic perspective and work on behalf of elected officials, with employees, colleagues, and external actors. You report to the administrative manager and create conditions for high-quality social work, both within your area of responsibility and for the administration as a whole. You achieve results by leading your unit managers in a trusting, clear, and inspiring manner.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least a bachelor's degree in the humanities, with major subjects that the employer deems relevant for the position. You also have good knowledge of applicable legislation within the area of operations and are used to working in a politically governed organization.

You have work experience leading managers, preferably several years within social services, and are confident in the role. Your commitment to social work is evident in your leadership style, and you have the ability to maintain focus on quality, results, and sustainable resource use. You are accustomed to working evidence-based and according to legislation, guidelines, and good practice. Furthermore, the position requires that you have good digital competence and can express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have experience from previous work within the area of operations, preferably as an operations manager, as well as if you are a social worker or have an academic education in behavioral science or law.
